TifGrand™ Bermuda grass sod is recommended for shaded golf course tees,
sport fields, in the landscape and other high use and visible
surfaces in warm climates.
Characteristics
- TifGrand™ Bermuda performs well in residential and commercial landscapes as well as other areas like shaded golf course tees, public and private parks and recreational sites
- TifGrand™ survives drought conditions similar to other hybrid bermudagrasses like Tifway and TifSport
- tolerant of traffic and wear, and recovers quickly with proper maintenence
- well maintained TifGrand™ bermudagrass will prevent weed establishment but is tolerant to most herbicides approved for weed growth to bermudagrasses in general
- TifGrand™ Bermuda is more resistant to Spring Dead Spot (SDS) than common bermudagrass selections like Celebration bermudagrass
- with adequate nutrition TifGrand™ Bermuda grass performs in full sun and shade similar to levels of grasses like Tifway and TifSport bermudagrass (always fertilize based on soil test)
- TifGrand™ best mowing height is 1 to 2 inches
- TifGrand™ sod grass is only available as Georgia Crop Improvement Association (GCIA) first quality 'CERTIFIED'. Each delivery of TifGrand™ Bermuda grass sod must be accompanied by a GCIA Certificate (see example at right)
