Sod Sizing & Coverage Guide

1 pallet = 50 rolls = 500 sq ft

Each pallet covers an area approx. the size of 2 parking spaces (or a 2-car garage)

1 roll = 10 sq ft

Each roll covers an area approx. the size of a large bath towel (2ft x 5ft)

Additional size references:

A tennis court is about 2,000 sq ft (4 pallets)
A basketball court is about 5,000 sq ft (10 pallets)
A 1/4 acre is about 10,000 square feet (20 pallets)
A 1/2 acre is about 20,000 square feet (40 pallets)

What if my square footage is in-between full pallets?

This is a common scenario when planning and ordering sod. Depending on how close you are to the next full pallet size (or multiple of 500 sq ft), you can either round up with some overage or place a separate order for rolls to be picked up in a local store.

Sun requirements

TifTuf is a turfgrass that’s widely adaptable to full sun or moderate shade as long as it gets at least 5-6 hours of direct, unfiltered sunlight. TifTuf has better shade tolerance that other Bermuda, such as Tifway.
